4 steps forward, 1 step back

Last night was a long night for Miss Emma. The doctors removed the ECMO machine and replaced it with the CRRT machine you see above, however Emma didn’t like the switch. Her blood pressure dropped really low and was unstable.

Happiest day of my life

Cautiously optimistic….again

I think we have some good news about Emma. I’m happy but trying not to be celebratory just yet. The blood culture from Sunday morning still has not grown positive for bacteria. Her previous cultures were positive in 8, 12

I just left the hospital to spend a few moments dealing. Actually, I left the hospital an hour and half ago and went for a very long walk in the rain.Very cathartic. Very necessary.  Long walks surrounded by unadulterated nature

Beating the odds so far

I’m sure most of you are wondering about my last post. Well, the infection in Emma has gotten worse. The doctors called us tonight at home with some amazingly bad news. The infection has prevented Emma from removing excess fluid.
