Family, friends, acquaintances and virtual admirers of Emma Joan Kowalczyk,
Ellen and I would like to invite you to share with us the memories of our special little girl, Emma. We are going to have a celebration of Emma’s life this Saturday at the CHAC in Seattle.
She taught us a great many things, and Ellen and I would like to share those lessons as far and as wide as possible. Some of us have already planned a few things to share, but we realize that Emma’s story is much bigger than just Ellen and I, and that she touched hundreds of lives all over the world. We’d like to turn the service over to you all so that you have ample opportunity to share your personal story with everyone. This service is also a gift to Emma’s twin sister Ella, who never really had a chance to bond with Emma. We will be recording the service for Ella as a special memory of her twin.
The microphone will be open to anyone who wants to share. Due to the diverse group of people at this event, we would encourage your comments to be spiritual, insightful, touching, and funny, however we’d prefer to keep religious references to a minimum.
When: Saturday, April 12, 1-3pm
Where: Capitol Hill Arts Center showroom – (directions) NOTE: street parking very limited, plan for extra time locating a space.
If you want to share your story, but are unable to attend the event or you are uncomfortable talking in front of a group, please feel free to email your story to emma@climbforkids.org. We will do our best to share as many stories as time allows.
Please feel free to invite friends, neighbors, and anyone who think might be inspired by Emma and her story. One of her great gifts was the ability to bring people together, and she would have wanted as many people to learn about her story as possible.
Thank you so much. We love you all and hope you can attend.
-Matt, Ellen, and Ella

I am not the type of person who holds anything back. I try to speak from the heart and be as transparent
